In December 2024, we invited our Marketplace partners to share their feedback to help us identify key development priorities. The responses to our “Let’s plan 2025 together!” survey provided us with valuable insights into our partners’ expectations. As a result, we have prioritised and scheduled our IT developments for 2025 accordingly. 📊

Now, let’s take a closer look at another crucial topic:
❓ How satisfied are our Marketplace partners with the traffic generated through our platforms, Pepita.hu and Pepita.com? For those who are not yet selling abroad, what are the difficulties that hinder their international presence?

📌 87% of respondents are also present on other marketplace platforms.
Among our Hungarian-based partners selling on multiple marketplaces, 74% believe Pepita performs as well as or better than other platforms.
Meanwhile, 44% of our international partners shared the same opinion.
📊 These results confirm that Pepita.hu is one of the leading marketplace platforms in Hungary, but we still face strong competition internationally. Our goal is to strengthen our international presence and expand our market share in all Pepita.com countries.
🌍 Last year we expanded the number of Pepita countries to 7, and this year, we aim to enter even more markets! Scaling up is already underway, which gradually increase turnover for our partners selling abroad.
💰 In recent months, we have introduced several conversion-boosting improvements, including country-specific payment methods and a simplified, faster campaign joining process for all countries.
📌 67% of survey respondents are already selling abroad in at least one Pepita.com country or planning to expand internationally.
Among our partners selling abroad 92% are present in Romania, 44% in Slovakia, 33% in Bulgaria, 30% in Poland, while 25% have started sales in Germany and 19% in Austria.
📌 The biggest challenges identified by respondents regarding international expansion were logistics, costs, and lack of capacity. One in five partners mentioned technical difficulties, while 5% reported financial, legal or customer service-related problems.
A key risk factor highlighted was high shipping costs, which make it difficult to offer competitive prices. Additionally, unclaimed orders pose a significant financial burden.

❌ Logistics challenges & high shipping costs:
✅ Although our experience shows that more logistics companies are offering cross-border delivery services. This year, we aim to provide additional option for our partners in both domestic and international logistics.
❌ Technical difficulties & capacity constraints:
✅ Among the technical difficulties, product data translation is becoming less of an issue for our partners. However, we plan to introduce Pepita-provided product translations this year to further simplify and accelerate international expansion.
📝 In recent months an automated process has been supporting the categorisation of new products uploaded and feed-based imports, reducing listing times to just 1–2 days in all countries.
💲 We are also planning to develop a new feature which helps partners manage pricing in multiple currencies. More details will be shared soon!
❌ High costs of unclaimed orders:
✅ Feedback from partners and logistics providers suggests that when orders arrive within the expected delivery timeframe, unclaimed package rates are not excessive. Additionally, in Austria and Germany, only card payments are accepted, reducing the risk of unclaimed orders.
📌 65% of respondents are either satisfied with their traffic on Pepita.com or optimistic about future sales growth.
This positive feedback confirms that we are on the right track, building on strong foundations. The remaining 35% – less satisfied or uncertain partners – present a significant opportunity for improvement and increased sales. 🚀
📈 When entering a new market, the first orders may not arrive immediately. Traffic is expected to increase gradually. However, pricing strategy plays a crucial role in sales performance. Generally speaking, our partners, who are also successful abroad, carry out price comparisons and set their selling prices according to the market.
